Critical Analysis - Slinkachu
Slinkachu is a photographer which creates his photographs by putting little statues communicating with other human sized sized objects. Small people, Big world. He leaves the little figures where he took the photograph for someone else to find.
Slinkachu takes multiple photos using mini statues and it is part of a series of photographs. The Little People photographs started in 2006 and ended in 2010.
The picture shows are bright orange flower being painted blue by one of the figures. The flower is the main point of focus and everything around it isn't that clear. This photo really stood out for me as flowers are small and delicate so I like the comparison of the flower with the man. The fact hes painting over it may have some sort of meaning. To me it looks like he's trying to change it and turn it into something different.

SHOOT 1
WWW:- I am very impressed with these 3 photos considering this is my first project. My flower photo uses quite a shallow depth of field, which is why the flower is in focus but the backgorund is blurry. I really like the angle on the second photo and how you are looking from below instead of straight on.
EBI:- I am the least impressed with the third photo because it is bland and is nothing to it. The third photo is supposed to be photoshopped with a miniature person leaning againt the tree trunk. However the flower doesn't really have a meaning behind it. There is no way i could photoshop someone interacting with that flower but i could with the tree.

WWW:- I like how these photos turned out like an actual model shoot, with the white backdrop. Freya modelled very well and did the poses and facial expressions i asked her to.
EBI:- My photographs will be better if Freya wasn't wearing her school uniform, the only way i could fix that is doing the shoot in my own time. I will do this if i ever do i shoot like this again. The other photos i took of Freya doing different poses, i weren't happy with which is why i didn't upload them. So it'll be better if i did the other poses and made sure they were a high enough quality. |

WWW:- This shoot was my favourite shoot to do in this project. It was fun to do and i also like the outcome. The second photo uses a shallow depth of field. You can clearly see that they are foodscapes which are inspired by Carl Warner.
EBI:- It would be better if the first photo involved the lego men like the others two do. The point of this project is miniature worlds but the first photo doesn't involve miniature people. |
